About me

I am a first generation Latina born and raised in Chicago. As a child, I was fascinated with science shows like Dexter’s Laboratory and the Magic School Bus. The Chicago museums became my playground and source for knowledge. I yearned to conduct my own experiments one day.

My journey

Since I have so many interests, it was hard to pick just one so I picked them all. I’ve conducted studies on pain, hypertension, and addiction, demonstrating my ability to comprehend a variety of complex topics. Becoming a scientist has been the most challenging thing I’ve done, but it has helped me realize my potential and my resiliency. I feel like I can tackle anything!

Towards a bright future

I love being a scientist, but I’ve realized that my true passion is transforming complex information into engaging stories. I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my journey and looking for science communication and outreach opportunities. I’m excited to apply my skills to create engagement and trust in science.
